It has been alleged that the accused are related to AAP MLA Madan Lal; both the victim and accused live in the same area

New Delhi, May 15

A youth was shot at and assaulted in broad daylight before being robbed in Krishna Nagar area of East Delhi over a property dispute. 

A video of the incident was circulated on social media. In the video, the accused is purportedly seen firing at the victim and then assaulting him with sticks.

The victim was identified as one Sonu who escaped unhurt during the firing; the attacker snatched his gold chain after assaulting him. 

The police stated that the incident took place on May 13 when the victim was walking out of a gym. They also allegedly snatch his chain, said police.

It has been alleged that the accused are related to AAP MLA Madan Lal who live in the same area.

The victim told police that his father and the accused have been involved in a property dispute for years. Both the parties had earlier also gotten into a fight over the same issue. 

The police have lodged a case of attempt to murder and firing under the sections of the IPC and Arms Act.
