Woman stabbed to death after she refuses to lift from assailant jn Guntur, CM orders stict punishment

The Andhra Pradesh police who have arrested the accused and proving the reasons behind this broad daylight murder

New Delhi, August 16

In a shocking incident reported from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, a third-year engineering student was stabbed to death in broad daylight by an assailant who refused to sit on his bike.

The accused was identified as Sashi Krishna. The victim identified as Nalla Ramyasri sustained six injuries on her throat and stomach.

The police said that passers-by shifted the profusely bleeding girl to the Government General Hospital, where doctors declared her dead. 

Based on the CCTV footage retrieved and the description provided by eyewitnesses, the Guntur Urban police identified the assailant and detained him hours after the incident. 

AP DGP Gautam Sawang assured strict punishment for the accused.

As reported by media in Gunturz the CCTV footage showed the assailant and the student were seen crossing the road after which they were seen conversing. Suddenly, the assailant was seen attacking the woman. He stabbed her several times while people watched in shock.

The police said that he threatened people watching him not to come closer to him and escaped. 

State Home Minister M Sucharita rushed to the Government General Hospital and condemned the murder. The minister said the police were trying to open the lock of the victim's mobile phone, which could help the investigators. She assured all support to the girl's family.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has condemned the incident. He spoke to police officials and directed them to take stringent action. 

The police have been told to under Disha Act and ensure ordered for maximum punishment. Reddy announced Rs 10 lakh compensation to the victim's family.
