The UP Police have transferred the case of alleged conman Satya Prakash Rai, alias Sherpuria to UP Special Task Force.
Sherpuria was arrested for allegedly collecting crores of rupees by faking access to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and other politicians and celebrities.
The case was registered at the Vibhuti Khand police station in Lucknow following his arrest by the STF on April 26.
The police sent Sherpuria back to the Lucknow jail after his six-day custodial remand ended. He was then taken to his residence in Delhi and then to Gujarat at his in-laws house to verify a few claims.
The Enforcement Directorate investigating a money laundering case against the alleged conman had already conducted searches at Delhi and Ahmedabad and is believed to have collected documents related to the case.
