UP Police arrest two persons for allegedly murdering a local newspaper journalist in Saharanpur of UP

The incident is the fall out of a road rage incident where the accused travelling a car got into a duel for overtaking with the journalist who was on bike. They journalist was mercilessly beaten up and left to die

New Delhi, January 28

The UP Police have arrested two persons for the murder of a journalist in Saharanpur district of UP. 

The police said the incident took place reportedly due to road rage incident on January 26. 

The accused have been identified as one Jahangir and Farman while friend Mannan is absconding. All the three work as daily wagers in Saharanpur. 

As per the case details, a few persons travelling in car got into altercation with motorcycle bound journalist Sudhir Saini (27) who works with a local daily Shah Times in Saharanpur. 

He was beaten up by the three accused and died during treatment at a hospital.

The police said that the argument broke out over the motorcycle overtaking the car after which the accused beat up the deceased and left him injured near a pond. 

Saharanpur SP Akash Toma stated that the fight broke out due to road rage and the accused travelling in the car beaten the journalist to death. The accused were identified and immediately arrested and their car was seized. 

The police have registered a case against the accused under IPC Section 302. The police added that they are also in the process to invoke the National Security Act, Gangster’s Act and Goonda Act depending on our investigation.
