UP Police arrest 10 persons who tied woman to a pole and thrashed her over property dispute

The video of the incident was shared on social media wherein the woman was seen getting brutally thrashed

A woman was tied to a pole and beaten up allegedly by few persons over a land dispute in Sambhal village of Uttar Pradesh. The UP Police have arrested ten people, including two women after the incident. 

A video of the incident surfaced on social media, following which five persons were arrested and later others whose involvement came to the fore during the investigation. 

The police stated that the five people were seen beating the woman in front of her minor daughter. The police probe showed that the accused and the victim were having a land dispute which turned serious and they attacked the woman. 

The police have booked the accused under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). 

After the video was posted on the internet, police added the IPC sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 342 (wrongful confinement),147 (rioting) and 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of the offence committed in prosecution of common object) to the FIR.
