The Uttar Pradesh Police have again got a new officiating Director General of Police in IPS officer Vijaya Kumar who is DG Vigilance and CB-CID at present. The UP Government passed an order appointing Vijaya Kumar as incumbent RK Vishwakarma retired from services.
The 1988 batch IPS officer, Vijaya Kumar will be the acting DGP of UP while handling the charges of the Vigilance Bureau and Crime Branch -Criminal Investigation Department.
BW PoliceWorld had written on May 29 that UP Government was going to appoint Vijaya Kumar as the officiating DGP who was the frontrunner for the post.
Kumar, a native of Jhansi in UP is a B Tech in Civil Engineering.
Chief Minister will soon send a proposal to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to make him the DGP of the state. In the last 13 months, Kumar will be the third officer to become the acting DGP of UP.
