UGC NET Hindi Paper Leak in Haryana- Haryana Police zero in on a CRPF constable of Delhi

The accused arrested in the paper leak told police that they had received the leaked questions through CRPF constable Vikas through What's App

New Delhi, December 30

The Haryana Police probing the UGC NET exam paper leak zeroed in on a CRPF (central reserved police force) constable from Delhi in connection with the paper leak. 

The accused has been identified as Vikas reportedly posted in Delhi. The police teams are also camping at his native place in Dadri village. 

The Jind police stated that the CRPF was informed about the constable’s involvement and alerted that he will be arrested. 

The police have so far arrested nine people from Jind and Bhiwani district on December 26 after it received information of the paper leak.

The officials stated that the arrested accused have told the police that Vikas had sent the question paper to them on WhatsApp almost six hours before the exam took place on December 26. 

The officials added that a deal was struck with each of the candidates in exchange of Rs 3 lakh. The payment was to be made after announcement of the results only. The candidates involved in process have been said to be associated with the coaching academy of Satnali (Mahendragarh)

The police found out that around 16 candidates of the Hindi exam were in contact with them.

The accused had received 150 questions of the Hindi exam paper in advance, which were found on their mobile phones. 

The names of the suspected and involved candidates have been given to the UGC alognwith the leaked questions for verification, police added. 

In addition to that the suspects were also were allegedly involved in the practice of impersonation to get cleared such exams.
