Two who robbed a German woman in Faridabad arrested

The police have identified the duo as members of the Thak thak gang who rob passengers with the same modus operandi

The Delhi Police arrested two members of the infamous ‘Thak-Thak’ gang for allegedly stealing money from a German national who was travelling in a car.

The police have identified the accused as Deepak, 25, and Nagesh, 35 who are habitual offenders and involved in various thefts with the same modus operandi.

As per the case details, a German woman was travelling in a car to attend Surajkund Mela in Faridabad on February 7. Two men on a two-wheeler followed them and the rider hinted to the car driver that something was wrong with their tyre when they reached Air Force Station in Tughlakabad. The woman asked her driver to stop the car and see if the tyre was punctured. The driver got out and found the tyre was in good condition. Meanwhile, a person came to the car, opened the rear seat door and her bag containing cash of Rs. 60,000 and fled the spot.

The police sprung to action and used technical surveillance and traced the location of the accused to Sunar Market in Madangir, from where both of them were arrested. 

The officials stated the Thak Thak gang operates with the same modus operandi and loots cash an valuables from the car after pretending to inform the driver or the commuter about a problem in their vehicle to divert their attention while the commit the robbery.
