Two men shot dead in firing in Welcome area of Northeast Delhi

Both the deceased had criminal past and worked as daily wage labourers

Two men were found dead on the road with multiple gunshot injuries in Welcome area of North East Delhi. 

The police had received PCR call in the middle of the night that gunshots were fired and locals saw one man lying dead on the road. The police team rushed to the spot and found a man with two gunshot wounds on his abdomen with two empty shells near his body. 

The man was later identified as Pradeep Kumar from Subhash Park area in Welcome, worked as a daily wage labourer and was returning home when the accused attacked and killed him.

The police then found another body which was hardly 200-300 metre away from Kumar’s body. The deceased was identified as Bablu Mujahid from Janta Majdoor Colony, who also worked as a daily wage labourer.

The men were taken to the GTB Hospital where doctors confirmed their deaths. 

DCP (Northeast) Joy Tirkey stated that the deceased has several criminal involvements and was declared as a ‘bad character’. He has 13 cases of snatching, robbery, and theft registered against him. the police have formed multiple teams to identify and nab the accused. The CCTV cameras near the spot are being analysed to identify the criminals and ascertain the sequence of events.

The police have registered a case of double murder.
