Two groups clash at Sukna Lake, assault with beer bottles over alleged harassment of a woman

While two accused were consuming beer at Sukna Lake, the other groups had reached there after visiting club when the accused passed lewd comments at one of the women in the group

Four people, including two women, were injured in a clash at Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh in connection with an alleged incident of harassment of a woman. 

One of the injured was identified as Baljeet Singh (27) who was at the Sukan Lake alongwith his friend Rajinder Singh. The members of other group were identified as Sahil Sharma, Sahil Bagga and their two women colleagues. 

The police stated that a fight occurred when Baljeet Singh and his friend, Rajinder Singh, allegedly passed lewd remarks at two women, who were also visiting the lake along with two men in we hours of May 14.

The police added that Baljeet Singh and his friend were consuming beer at Sukhna Lake when they passed comments at the women. he women along with their male friends came to Sukhna Lake from a nightclub. Baljeet Singh was attacked with beer bottles and received sharp injuries on his back and head when Rajinder Singh, managed to escape from the spot. 

A PCR call was made an police rushed to the spot. Two of three women and one of their male colleagues also received minor injuries in the fight. 

The police said that the male friends of the women hit Baljeet Singh with beer bottles. Broken pieces of the bottles were found on the spot. The injured were rushed to GMSH-16 in the police PCR Gyspy. Later, Baljeet Singh was referred to PGI where his condition is critical. 

A Daily Diary Report (DDR) was lodged at Sector 3 police station as both the geoups refused to file a police complaint.
