Two GRP constables arrested for pushing a Dalit a man from moving train in Prayagraj

The two constables identified as Krishna Kumar Singh and Alok Kumar Pandey had got into an argument with the complainant over tickets

New Delhi, October 27

Two Government Railway Police (GRP) constables were arrested for allegedly pushing a Dalit man from a moving train during a scuffle in Prayagraj.

The two constables were identified as Krishna Kumar Singh and Alok Kumar Pandey who got into an argument with the complainant over tickets.

The police said, Arun Bhuiyan was returning home to Jharkhand from Mumbai with his friends Arjun Bhuiyan and Hari, when the incident took place. 

The GRP has suspended the two constables after the police registered an FIR against them. 

The duo have been booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder among other charges. Police have also invoked the SC/ST Act and the Prevention of Corruption Act against them.
