Sikh man from Punjab shot dead in Philippines

New Delhi, November 28

A Sikh man from Khanna town of Ludhiana district has been shot dead in Manila city of the Philippines. 

The deceased was identified as Gurdev Singh (58), who was a native of Nand Singh Avenue of Khanna and was working as a financier in the Philippines since five years. 

He was shot dead by unknown assialnts when he was returning back home from work. 

As per the media reports, Gurdev and his son worked as financiers in Manila. However, his son had come back and Gurdev was living alone in the Philippines capital. The family said that a few minutes before the cold-blooded murder, Gurdev had spoken to his daughter over a video call. 

The family has sought the central government’s help to bring back Gurdev’s mortal remains at the earliest.

Gurdev Singh is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son. One of his daughters is married.
