The Rajasthan Police busted a huge racket of Ganja and seized over 1200 kilograms of the contraband worth over Rs. 3 crores from Chittorgarh.
The accused were identified as Raju Puri Goswami, Jitendra Purohit, and Prahlad Rai Soni.
The contraband was carried in 364 plastic bags loaded in a truck from Vishakhapatnam and brought to Rajasthan.
The officials said that the accused were was on their way to supply it to local peddlers in Rajasthan's Bhilwara district and Haryana.
The Rajasthan CID had received the Intel on the arrival of the peddlers after mounting surveillance on them from last three months.
He said that after taking the three accused into custody, the container was brought to the Kapasan Police Station premises.
During the search, police found three keypad mobile phones, two smart phones, Rs 900 in cash, and 364 plastic bags with 1,205 kg of ganja hidden inside the container.
The officials added that Ganja is cutkivated illegally in the inaccessible Naxal-dominant areas near the borders of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, and from there it is smuggled across the country.
