Punjab Police arrests four aides of Canada based gangster, Davinderpal for extortion

The Punjab Police in Moga arrested four men who were allegedly running an extortion racket on the directions of their Canada-based kingpin. 

The police have identified the four aides as Prajwil Sethi of Moga, Deepak alias Monu of Ramganj, Gursharan Singh of Duneke village and Akashdeep Singh Dhaliwal alias Gagan of Bukkanwala road, Moga. 

The police said that they used to make threat calls to their targets and extort money after threatening to kill them.

Canada-based Davinderpal Singh alias Gopi, a native of Loharia village of Moga, was the kingpin of the gang.

The police recovered one 315 bore country made pistol and one 32 bore pistol from the accused. An FIR was registered under the sections 25(6), 25(7), 25(b) of IPC. 

According to the police, the accused had made threat calls to two persons with intention to extort. Police said that the accused had called one Sunny, brother of Krishan Lal alias Babbu of old Moga area, who owns an eatery Sham Lal Dhaba (Dese da dhaba) on Kotkapura-Baghapurana bypass. 

The accused had demanded Rs 1 lakh from Sunny and were going to collect it when the police arrested them. 

In another case, the accused also made a threat call to Maninder Singh of Gobindgarh Basti, Moga who works at a firm named Jai Maa Placement on Old Court road in Moga.
