Punjab Police arrested mastermind of the triple murder of retd ASI and his family in Ludhiana

The Punjab Police arrested the mastermind of the sensational murder of retired assistant sub-inspector of Punjab Polce who was brutally murdered alongwith his family members in Ludhiana. 

The accused was identified as Prem Chand, also known as Mithun (25), a resident of Awankha village in Dinanagar tehsil of Gurdaspur district. 

The accused confessed to committing the triple murder of a former assistant sub-inspector and his family in Ludhiana for robbery. 

Retired Assistant Sub-Inspector Kuldeep Singh (65), his wife Paramjeet Kaur (60), and their son Gurwinder Singh, also known as Pali Grewal (30), were found dead in their residence at Noorpur Bet village in Ladhowal area. At the time of the incident, the accused also stole three licenced weapons, including two .32-bore revolvers and a .12-bore rifle, as well as cash and jewellery from the house. 

The accused was absconding since 15 days and had taken refuge at his sister’s secluded house in Phillaur. 

During his interrogation, he also  admitted to bludgeoning a woman to death in Dinanager, whom he had visited to procure drugs. After killing the woman, the accused disposed of her body in a gutter. On May 30, Prem Chand also attempted to rob another house at Talwandi Kalan village in the Ladowal area but ended up killing a dog before fleeing the scene, police added.
