Pimpri Chinchwad police book 40 supporters of former BJP corporator for sloganeering against BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis

After the shoe hurling incident, slogans and placards were raised against former CM Devendra Fadnavis in Pimpri Chinchwad during his visit at Bhosari

The Pimpri Chinchwad Police, twin city of Pune, booked 40 supporters of a former BJP corporator for raising slogans and showing placards against leader of opposition and former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis. 

The police have identified 14 out of 40 suspects from the group. The supporters belonged to Ravi Landge, who was elected as corporator of PCMC from Bhosari area on BJP ticket but quit the party on March 8. 

The supporters held placards and shouted slogans ‘Fadnavis Go Back” during his visit to Bhosari area of Pimpri Chinchwad on March 6.

According to the police, on March 6, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Pune, Fadnavis inaugurated various infrastructure projects in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area. He had gone to Bhosari around 6 pm to inaugurate Marutrao Ravji Landge Wrestling Arena. 

When Fadnavis arrived, around 40 supporters of Landge showed placards and raised slogans ‘Fadnavis Go Back’ and ‘Corrupt Pimpri Chinchwad BJP, Fadnavis Go Back’. 

On the same day, shoe was hurled at Fadnavis' car and slogans were raised against him for which a seperate case has been registered in the PC police. 

The police have registered an FIR in this matter and begun further investigation.
