Noida Police arrests sharpshooter of Bhati gang for firing at BJP member Sanchit Sharma
The accused was identified as Ashwani from Najafgarh, a sharpshooter and an alleged member of the Randeep Bhati gang; Bhati is currently lodged in Mandoli jail
The Noida Police arrested a man from Greater Noida’s for allegedly attempting to murder BJP worker Sanchit Sharma.
Sharma was attacked on November 3 when he was travelling in a car with another BJP member.
The accused was identified as Ashwani from Najafgarh, a sharpshooter and an alleged member of the Randeep Bhati gang.
The police said there was conflict between Bhati and Sanchit.
The police recovered a .32 calibre pistol with three live cartridges from him.
As per the case details, on November 3, Sanchit was with BJP mandal president Mahesh Sharma when he was waylaid by several armed assailants in two Scorpio vehicles. He was severely wounded after being beaten up with iron rods and left for dead.
The police had registered an FIR for rioting, criminal conspiracy and attempted murder.
The Uttarakhand Police had arrested three men on November 13. One of them identified as Haripal Gurjar, had confessed that the attack was done allegedly on the directions of gangster Randeep Bhati, currently lodged in Mandoli jail.
