NIA submits supplementary chargesheet in Ekbalpore communal violence case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed supplementary chargesheet in the Special Court Kolkata in the case relates to a clash between two communities in Ekbalpore.
The accused identified as Md. Zeeshan Akbar alias Zeeshan of Khiddirpore, Kolkata has been charged u/s 120B, 147, 149, 152, 332, 352 & 436 of IPC for his involvement in the instant case.
The NIA stated that it was found during investigation that Md Zeeshan Akbar, alongwith other co-accused, had hatched a criminal conspiracy and had mobilised an ‘unlawful assembly’ with the intention to attack dwelling houses/shops of Hindu community in Kolkata by using crude bombs, petrol bombs, wooden sticks, brickbats, stones etc.
The mob also disrupted the electricity supply in the area and prevented the Police Personnel from entering Gali No. 8, Bhukailash Road, Kolkata to control the riots. The mob also assaulted police personnel causing injuries to one of Police Personnel, officials said.
The NIA has earlie filed chargesheet against 14 persons in the case.
