NIA files chargesheet against two in Patna naxal case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed chargesheet against two accused in NIA Special Court in Patna in the case of CPI (Maoist), recruitment of cadres for revival of CPI (Maoist) in Bihar. 

The Bihar Police had arrested two persons- Vijay Kumar of Gaya and Umesh Chaudhary of Rohtas in Bihar, who were found in possession of naxal pamphlets, levy receipts and electronic devices containing incriminating data. 

The duo have been chargesheeted under sections 120B & 121A of the IPC, and sections 13, 17, 18, 18B, 20, 38, 39 & 40 of the UA (P) Act 1967. 

According to the NIA, Vijay Kumar Arya, a Central Committee Member of proscribed terrorist organization CPI (Maoist), conspired with other accused persons and was actively involved in propagating the ideology of CPI (Maoist), recruitment, influencing and motivating others to join CPI (Maoist).

The accused, Umesh Chaudhary had provided shelter to accused Vijay Kumar Arya at his house in Rohtas, Bihar and was part of the conspiracy for furthering activities of CPI (Maoist).

The agency is further investigating the case.
