New Delhi, February 27

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed the third supplementary chargesheet against an armed CPI (Maoist) cadre in the case of abduction and murder of Naresh Singh Bhokta. 

Bhokta was abducted in November 2018 and taken to a Jan Adalat in Aurangabad Gaya area where  a Kangaroo Court comprising of the top leadership of CPI (Maoist) issued instructions to their cadres to kill Naresh after declaring him as a police informer. Naresh Singh Bhokta was murdered and his body was found near village Badhai Bigha under Police Station Madanpur, District Aurangabad, Bihar.

The NIA took over the investigations of the case in June 2022. The agency filed three chargesheets against seven  accused by the State Police in 2019. 

The NIA's investigations have revealed that accused Ajay Singh Bhokta, alongwith other CPI (Maoist) cadres, was actively involved in the abduction and murder of Naresh Singh Bhokta. Ajay is an armed cadre of CPI (Maoist) and he was arrested in the instant case in September 2022 upon production warrant. The chargesheet has been filed in Ld. NIA Court, Patna against Ajay Singh Bhokta u/s 120B, 121A, 364, 471 & 302 of IPC, Section 25 (1A) & 27 of Arms Act, Section 13, 16, 18, 20. 38, & 39 of UA (P) Act 1967. 

The weapons used in the incident have been seized and their forensic examination has been completed. The three vehicles used by the CPI (Maoist) cadres in the incident have also been recovered and seized, officials mentioned. 

During its investigations, NIA has also been able to unearth the involvement of top CPI (Maoist) commanders, including a Politburo member in the conspiracy for this brutal murder, which was done to create terror in the society while propagating the false and fallacious ideology of People's War against the State.
