Mumbai Police suspended police constable who provided security as bodyguard to actor Amitabh Bacchan

The Mumbai Police suspended a police constable attached to providing security at the residence of Bollywood actor Amitabh Bacchan. 

The constable was identified as Jitendra Shinde who was working as bodyguard to the actor till August last year. 

He had worked as a bodyguard to Amitabh Bachchan from 2015 till August 2021. Mumbai CP hemant Nagrale had orderd a departmental iqnuiry against him afterthe Mumbai Polcie lernt that his annual earnings are around of Rs 1.5 crores 

After August 2021, Shinde was posted at DB Mar police station in Mumbai.

The Mumbai Police had issued a departmental inquiry against him, after completion of which, they issued his suspension order. 

The Mumbai police said that he has been suspended for alleged impropriety and violation of service norms. 

Shinde was earlier posted with the protection and security branch of the Mumbai Police.

The officials added that he had also opened a security agency in the name of his wife which was providing security to the Bachchan family, but the transactions about fees reflected in his bank account and not in the bank accounts of his wife.

Shinde had also purchased some properties, which was not disclosed by him. It also came to the fore during the inquiry that Shinde had travelled to Dubai and Singapore four times without informing his superiors.

The Mumbai CP has also set up an inquiry committee headed by an ACP rank officer to inquire further on Shinde. 

Amitabh Bachchan is provided ‘X’ category security under which four police constables provide him security in two shifts.
