A minor girl who went missing from home in Outer Delhi was allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted.
The parents of the girl alerted police and three police teams started looking for the minor and scanned CCTVs.
The police found a footage in which the girl was seen being picked up and carried by an unknown person.
The police added that the victim was found at a nearby park, where the accused had left her after allegedly raping her. She was taken for a medical examination where it came to the fore that she was sexually assaulted.
The police have registered a case of rape, other charges under the IPC and POCSO Act.
The girl's family claimed that the police didn't take the complaint seriously and after much insistence sent teams to search for her. The police however denied the allegations.
The police added that the accused took the girl from the area and boarded a tempo. The tempo driver was tracked and he told the police that the accused took a lift from him and said the girl was his daughter.
Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal tweeted on Friday, “A (minor) girl has been raped in Delhi. She was taken away from in front of her house… my team is with her. We have issued a notice to the Delhi Police so that the culprits are arrested immediately.”
The DCW sent a notice to the SHO and sought coy of the FIR, details of the accused or steps to arrest him, and a detailed report of action taken in the case.
