Meerut law student shot at his residence over unfinished land deal of his family

The police identified the main accused as Sunny Kaakran, a history-sheeter and an inter-state criminal who is carrying a bounty of Rs. 1 lakh on his head

New Delhi, May 23

A law college student was shot dead at his residence in Pauli Khurd village on the outskirts of Meerut over a land deal rivalry. 

The victim identified as Parag Singh (24) was shot six times. He was rushed to a private hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. 

The police identified the main accused as Sunny Kaakran, a history-sheeter and an inter-state criminal.  

As per the case details, Sunny and his accomplices forcibly entered his house on May 20 and opened fire at Parag. Sunny’s family had sold a plot of land to a member of Parag’s family .They collected the money in advance and later allegedly refused to go through with the legal form. This had resulted in a feud between the two families. 

Meerut SSP Prabhakar Chudhary stated that Sunny is a history sheeter and over 20 cases are registered against him for murder, dacoity, loot and more. He is also carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh for information on his whereabouts.

The Meerut Police have formed several police teams to trace the absconding historysheeter. 

The Meerut crime Branch and the Special Task Force have been also roped in to aid the police.
