Man murdered wife, daughter under influence of alcohol, drugs near Gurugram

The woman was a victim of regular domestic violence as her unemployed husband had taken to alcohol and drugs

New Delhi, February 7

A man allegedly murdered his wife and minor daughter reportedly under the influence of alcohol in Bhangrola village in Haryana. 

The police said the accused hit his wife and five-year-old daughter with a heavy object and fled from the spot after murdering them. 

The woman’s brother filed a complaint with police that his sister was a victim of regular domestic violence and the accused often hit her under the influence of alcohol and drugs. The accused had been unemployed for some time.

According to police, the incident took place on the intervening night February 5 and 6. 

The police added that the accused got into a fight with his wife over lending him money. When his wife refused to lend him money, he allegedly hit her on the head with a heavy object and later killed his daughter too. The woman’s family was informed in wee hours that the woman was attacked. 

The victims were first rushed to a private hospital in Gurgaon and later referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. The mother as declared brought dead at civil hospital in Gurgaon while the minor succumbed to serious head injuries in Safdarjung hospital. 

The police have registered and FIR against the accused under sections 302 (murder) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code.
