Man and Canada returned woman found dead in an apartment in West Delhi, suicide and murder suspected

The police stated that man, a gym trainer and the woman, a MBA student who recently returned from Canada were known to each other

New Delhi, February 10

An MBA student from Canada and her friend were found dead inside a flat in West Delhi. The police suspect that the man allegedly killed the girl and then committed suicide. 

The female victim was 25-year-old MBA student who had returned to India from Canada while the man was a gym trainer and a resident of Anand Parbat where he had recently moved. 

 His body was found hanging from the fan while the woman’s body was on the bed, said police.

The police received a PCR call on February 9 afternoon about the incident. The woman had left her home at Patel Nagar saying that she was out to meet a friend. The woman's family were searching for her. The woman's mother approached police and after seeking information from them, went to the man's rented flat. 

The police stated that they broke open the door when noone opened for a long time and found the duo dead. The man was found hanging with the ceiling fan while the woman was lying dead on the bed. 

The police suspect they got into a fight over an old issue and the man allegedly killed her. He then committed suicide. However, no suicide note was found at the spot.

The police called in the crime and and FSL teams inspected the spot. The bodied were sent for a detailed autopsy report. The police have collected the CCTV report and analyzing the call data record to ascertain the sequence of events and motive behind the crime.

The police have registered a case of murder and begun a thorough investigation.
