Ludhiana police personnel assaulted by three men for arresting them for consuming alcohol

Three men who were arrested for consuming liquor in the open allegedly assaulted a PCR personnel at Ludhiana in Punjab. The accused allegedly attacked the policeman with a beer bottle before escaping.

The victim was identified as ASI Sukhwinder Singh of Mundian Kalan. ASI Sukhwinder Singh was with constable Nahar Singh on patrolling duty in Moti Nagar area. They noticed three men were consuming alcohol in the open near GLADA park. The accused first misbehaved with the policemen and later assualted them before fleeing. 

The police have registered an FIR against three unidentified accused has been registered under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 333 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 506 (criminal intimidation), 34 (act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of IPC.
