Live-In partner kills girlfriend in Delhi, flees with baby, arrested later

The accused wanted to marry the woman but suspected her of having an affair with someone else

The Delhi Police has arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly killing his live-in partner and leaving her body locked up at their home in Sarita Vihar area of the city. 

The deceased was identified as Gulshana who was found dead on November 11. 

The accused was identified as Rahul Lal who had allegedly fled after the incident on November 10 with the woman’s one-year-old daughter.

The body of the deceased was sent to AIIMS for a post-mortem and the report stated that she was strangulated to death.

The police had received a PCR call from a local who said he saw Gulshana’s body. After the incident Rahul fled from the scene. 

The investigators out his phone under technical surveillance. The police stated that Rahul was caught while he was trying to escape Delhi through a jungle. 

During his interrogation, he revealed, that he wanted to marry her but he suspected she was having an affair with someone. 

On November 10, Gulshana and Rahul started fighting over Rs 5,000. They also argued over her alleged cheating. In the heat of the moment, the accused strangled her and she died. He locked the house and left with her baby, added police. 

The police rescued the baby from his grandmother’s house. 

The accused had been booked for murder under Section 302 of the IPC.
