A young girl allegedly attempted to kill herself by jumping off a building at Delhi Metro’s Akshardham station.

The 25-year-old girl was saved by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel on the ground who spotted her standing on the edge of the roof of the metro station.

A video of the incident surfaced where the CISF staff requested the girl to move back. She waited for a while and refused to hear them. She ended up jumping but the CISF and Metro staff had arranged a blanket by then and escaped with minor injuries, said officials.

The police said the girl sustained minor injuries on her legs because of the fall and was sent to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. She was reported stable.
