Ghaziabad Police books five unidentified men who got into a spat, fired in air and created ruckus at a petrol pump

New Delhi, July 29

The Ghaziabad Police have arrested five persons for rioting following an altercation with the staff at Bharat petrol pump near Ghaziabad’s Lal Kuan area. 

The group of men, wearing blue uniforms similar to uniforms of private security guards had got into a fight with the petrol pump employees and allegedly thrashed them. .

One of the accused also allegedly snatched away the phone of one of the petrol pump employees who recorded the incident on his phone. 

The police stated that one of the men fired a gun but none of the employees were injured. The police have collected CCTV footage from the spot and formed teams to identify and arrest them. 

The police have registered FIR under sections 147 (punishment for rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 392 (punishment for robbery) of the Indian Penal Code.
