Former Haryana Police IGP Hemant Kalson assaults neighbour, absconding

Kalson was given premature retirement following his repeated involvement in assault cases

New Delhi, January 13

In yet another case of assault, former Haryana Inspector General of Police (IGP) Hemant Kalson  allegedly assaulted his neighbour after she refused to cook dinner for him.

The police said that the incident took place on January 11 night when he assaulted his neighbour for not cooking dinner for him. 

Kalson was given premature retirement following his repeated involvement in assault cases.

As per the complaint,  Kalson, forcefully entered her house and asked her to cook dinner for him. When she refused to go to his house at night, Kalson allegedly punched her in the face. As her nose started bleeding, her husband called the local police. Kalson escaped from the spot, threatening the couple with dire consequences, they told the police.

This is the sixth FIR against Kalson in the last five years where he has been accused of assaulting people in an inebriated state.  

The police have booked Kalson who is absconding under sections 323 (assault), 454 (trespassing) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
