The Punjab Police arrested the mastermind of the Fatehgarh Sahib petrol pump loot case after the Anti Gangsters Task Force (AGTF) arrested two accused from Tarn Taran district after an exchange of fire.

The employees of a BPCL petrol pump in Fatehgarh Sahib were looted at gun point of Rs. 40 lakhs on May 29. The police found that the mastermind of the robbery was a former manager of the petrol pump located near the Bhatt Majra village.

As per the case details, on May 29, a car carrying three employees of the pump, including a gunman, was followed by a white Hyundai i20 car as they exited the petrol pump. When the BPCL employees’ vehicle attempted to pass through an underpass on the NH1, their path was blocked by four culprits who were already positioned there. The i20 car, which had been following them, blocked their way from behind. The robbers then fired three rounds at the car and looted around Rs 40 lakh.

The police had arrested two accused identified as Gurpreet Singh and Harpreet Singh of Tarn Taran district who spilled the beans that the mastermind of the heist is Vikramjeet Singh, a former manager of the petrol pump. The police arrested him from Khara Kurali road in Mohali while he was traveling in his car.

The officials stated that Vikramjeet revealed that he had kept the money at his Amritsar home. A team was sent to his home and Rs 33.73 lakh cash was recovered.
