Delhi police killed two wanted criminals in an encounter at Khajuri Khas

The cross firing left two Delhi Police constables injured. The accused tried to create a hostage situation at a building in Khajuri Khas

New Delhi, August 12

The Delhi police killed two men in an encounter in Khajuri Khas who were wanted in criminal cases and threatened to blow up a building the national capital. 

The accused identified as Aamir Khan and Rah Maan who were wanted in multiple cases of murder and robbery.

The police said the accused were on the run and had taken shelter in a building at Sri Ram colony in Khajuri Khas. When the police teams arrived to arrest them, in order to escape the accused fired at the police and threatened to blow up the building if police arrested them. 

The police added that 15 families were trapped inside when the accused began firing at the police teams in order to escape. 

After an exchange of fire between police and accused, the accused were killed in an encounter. Delhi police constables Sachin Khokar and Lailt Tomar suffered injuries. 

The police recovered two pistols, four magazines and 15 live cartridges from the duo.

The accused were shifted to the hospital for autopsy and other formalities.
