Delhi businessman thrashed by bouncers in upscale Janpath

The businessman had gone to a five star hotel in Janpath with his wife and friends for a Holi party and while he was outside and his wife inside, he was allegedly stopped by the bouncers on entering

New Delhi, March 20

A Delhi based businessman and his friend were allegedly thrashed by bouncers outside a club at a five-star hotel in New Delhi’s Janpath area.

The police stated that the men allegedly got into a heated argument with the bouncers over entry into the club.

A purported video of the incident shows the bouncers (in uniform) approaching a group of men. The two parties get into a fistfight and the bouncers are seen allegedly thrashing the men and punching and kicking the victim.

As per the case details, victim identified as Gagan Deep Singh (29), who has a business of water coolers, lives in Paschim Vihar went to a five star hotel's club in Janpath with his wife, along with their friends. While Singh was outside with his friend while his wife was inside the club. he was trying to gain entry to the club when he was stopped. He alleged bouncers did not allow them as ‘stag’ entry wasn’t allowed and hurled abuses before he was beaten up with sticks and rods.  

The police registered a case under IPC sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 341 (wrongful restraint) against unknown persons.
