Delhi and Rajasthan Police in a joint operation arrest five who cheated customers on alcohol home delivery

The gang operating from Rajasthan that cheated many since the second lockdown got busted after Delhi woman filed a complaint

New Delhi, August 9

Delhi Police and Rajasthan Police in a joint operation busted an online liquor selling racket bust and arrested five.

The accused have been identified as Mustafa, Irshad, Mausam, Zakir, and Sameer. 

The accused had cheated a woman complainant for Rs. 25000 under the pretext of providing alcohol at doorstep.

As per the report, online fraudsters had given an advertisement for home delivery of liquor during the COVID lockdown period.

As per the complaint filed by the Nupur Mishra from Moti Bagh of Delhi, she did not receive the liquor which she ordered through an online portal. Post that, the Delhi Police team contacted Bharatpur district Superintendent of Police Bharatpur Devendra Kumar Bishnoi to nab miscreants. 

After raiding the village Dharamshala of the Kaithwara police station area, both the teams successfully arrested the accused. 

The police added that the accused with their online ad used to get calls from customers for home delivery of alcohol. While they collected money from them, the alcohol was not delivered. They cheated several during the lockdown and post lockdown however got caught after the Delhi woman filed a complaint.
