Delhi Police most awaited reshuffle brings change in previous set up

11 Deputy CPs in Delhi Police have been reshuffled in the transfer ordered by Home Department

New Delhi, February 10

The Delhi Police has witnesses its most awaited transfers of deputy CPs in the city while changing the previous set up of women DCPs heading the district.

Three women DCPs Usha Rangnani, Shweta Chauhan and Esha Pandey who were heading the districts of North West, Central and South East have been transferred.

Usha Rangani is now DCP Special Branch, Shweta Chauhan has been appointed as DCP General Administration and DCP Esha Pandey will now serve as DCP Traffic.

Until last year, seven women DCPs were heading the districts of Delhi Police- Usha Rangnani (DCP North West), Shweta Chauhan (DVP Central) , Esha Pandey (DCP South East) , Priyanka Kashyap (DCP East), Benita Mary Jaiker (DCP South), Amrutha Guguloth (DCP New Delhi now East district), Tanu Sharma (DCP IGI).

At present only two women IPS officers are heading the districts- Amrutha Guguloth as DCP East and Chandan Chowdhary as DCP South.

This transfer has brought DCP Joy Tirkey as DCP North East while Sanjay Sain has been transferred as DCP Central. It is to be noted that Sanjay Sain, known as the face changed of North East district in Delhi that faced riots in 2020 has contributed tremendously in busting the criminal network in North East district while roping in community policing initiatives to bring communities together.

DCP Vikram Porwal (DCP General Administration) will move as DCP EOW while Jitendea Kumar Meena (DCP EOW) has been appointed as DCP North West. DCP Rajesh Deo (DCP Crime) has been appointed as DCP South East while Ankit Kumar Singh (additional DCP North East) will serve as DCP Crime.

DCP Devesh Kumar Mahla (DCP Outer North) has been appointed as DCP IGI Airport while Ravi Kumar Singh (DCP IGI) is the new DVP Outer North district.
