Delhi Police files two FIRs in the JNU campus scuffle

The scuffle had broken out between two groups of students over a personal issue leading to injuries of two students

The Delhi Police have filed cross FIRs in the case of scuffle inside the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus. 

The scuffle had broken out between two groups of students over a personal issue. The FIRs were filed on the complaints of two JNU students in Vasant Kunj North police station.

As per the case details, a PCR call was made around about the students fighting near Narmada Hostel. The police learnt the scuffle was the fallout of an altercation over someone’s birthday celebration a day before. Two students had received injuries while there were videos that surfaced on the internet that showed men walking with sticks in the campus. 

The FIR has been filed under IPC sections 323 (voluntary hurt) 324 (wrongful restraint) and 34 (common intention).

The police investigation has ruled out any political rivalry or involvement of any other groups in the case.
