Delhi Police busts 'Messi' gang that robbed phones in South Delhi

The Delhi Police have busted 'Messi' gang that was found involved in more than 55 cases of phone theft in South Delhi.  

Interestingly, the main accused Pinku (43) is a fan of Argentina football star Lionel Messi and a footballer himself. 

The police have arrested Pinku and his associates Ajay Kumar (37), Pummy (52) and Firoz Khan (30) who were caught with 56 phones.

The patrolling staff of South District found the accused and stopped them for questioning. They tried to mislead staff but after a cursory search, 11 mobile phones were recovered. 

During questioning, Pinku revealed that the gang has been active in South and Southeast district for last four to five years. 

Their modus operandi was to snatch phones in crowded and market areas. 

The police added that accused Pinku is a historysheeter involved in 10 cases, including murder.
