Delhi Police arrests a cyber stalker who posed as woman, harasses women on social media

The accused used to morph images of women to take revenge if they rejected his proposal to be his girlfriend

New Delhi, April 21

The Delhi Police have arrested a man who posed as a woman and harassed women on social media under a female identity and circulated their morphed photos online. 

The cybercrime cell of Northwest district was put to task who traces rhe accuses in Ludhiana of Punjab. 

The accused was identified as Kuldeep, a resident of Delhi. Kuldeep made a profile on social media in the name of a female and posted their morphed photos on social media in order to harass them.

A 24-year-old woman filed a complaint that on March 15 she received a friend request from an unknown Instagram ID in the name of one Simran and she accepted the request as there were many mutual friends.

After sometime, she came to know that the alleged Instagram account had her photograph as the display picture and ‘Simran’ used to post her edited or morphed and objectionable photos with objectionable comments. 

DCP (Northwest) Jitendra Meena said, "When Kuldeep was questioned, he confessed to the crime. He said that man said that he wanted to find a girlfriend and when his proposals got rejected, he used to post their morphed photographs with objectionable comments in order to take revenge on them".
