Delhi Police arrests a cab driver for murdering a woman who refused to marry him

The cab driver had been stalking and harassing the woman and also asked her husband to leave her so that he could marry her

The Delhi Police arrested for allegedly killing a woman for resisting his advances in New Ashok Nagar area of Delhi. 

The accused was identified as Shiv Shankar Mukhiya who has been stalking and harassing the victim since a long time. 

The police received a PCR call from a man saying he had found his wife dead. A police team rushed to the spot and the deceased, Sunita, was found with head injuries and injuries in mouth. 

The police collected CCTV footage and found suspicious movement of a man outside the deceased’s house around 7.15 pm. 

According to the police, the deceased’s husband received a call a few months ago wherein the caller tried to persuade him to leave his wife. The husband also said the caller had affixed some pamphlets with his and his wife’s numbers and some derogatory content next to it. 

The police analysed the call detail records and nabbed the accused. 

During questioning, Mukhiya disclosed that he came in contact with the victim three years ago and wanted to marry her. 

In a fit of rage, Mukhiya went to her house and started beating her and when she resisted, he allegedly smothered her using his hand, added the DCP.
