Delhi Police arrest four for assaulting a citizen for objecting to use of dipper on road

The incident was caught in the dashboard cam and posted on Twitter by the victim

New Delhi, May 11

The Delhi Police arrested four people for allegedly assaulting a man after stopping his car in Nangloi area of outer Delhi. 

The victim, identified as Praveen Jangra, posted a video on Twitter claiming that a few unidentified miscreants thrashed him near the Nangloi metro station.

The footage taken by the dashboard camera showed that the accused slapped and abused him in the middle of the road. He was seen later pleading with the accused. 

The victim then uploaded the video of the incident on Twitter and the accused were identified through the dash cam video. 

The police traced the accused and arrested them and seized their bikes. The primary probe showed that the accused began attacking the victim only because he objected to the use of a dipper on the road by the men. The accused got into a scuffle with him and then began assaulting him.
