The Delhi Police apprehended a juvenile who managed to escape from an observation home in February and was trying to cross the Indo-Nepal border.

The juvenile was first apprehended in 2021 with the robbery and murder of a 77-year-old builder in North Delhi.

The officials said is that the boys broke the net outside their rooms and scaled the walls. While the boy accused in the murder case went to his hometown in Bihar, the other boy went to Northeast Delhi where he attacked another person. He was caught immediately.

The Crime Branch said when he was questioned, he revealed that the other boy was heading to Bihar.

Last year, he along with his associates had allegedly stabbed the elderly man to death and decamped with cash and jewellery. The boy had worked at the house for over three months and was hired on the recommendation of his father, who worked there as a driver.

He and his associate were caught at a Delhi metro station last year. The duo had used a DMRC metro card which helped local staff track their location. More than 300 CCTVs were scanned to catch them. They were caught with foreign currency, Indian currency worth Rs 10 lakh and gold jewellery, officials added.
