New Delhi, March 9

The Delhi Police Central District organized a special programme to interact with women and boost the message of women's equality.

The programme showed an overwhelming response with the participation of more than 100 participants who enthusiastically took part in the painting competition to raise awareness about women’s equality.

DCP Central Shweta Chauhan distributed prizes to all participants and told all school children to respect women and treat them fairly in all works of life. She urged parents to empower their girl children by way of education and also teach them self defense to make them strong and independent.

She announced that these paintings will be framed and displayed at DCP Central office and all police stations of Central District.

In another programme at DCP office, women police officers of “PRASHAKTI BEAT STAFF” and “VEERA SQUAD” were facilitated by giving them rewards & certificates for their professional service and for being a part of this path breaking initiative of Central District police by moving forward from traditional policing where only male staff was used to be deployed in Beats.

DCP Chauhan addressed the female staff of Central District and motivated them to keep working with zeal so as to make a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination.

She urged them to feel pride in their uniform and not let any difficulties deter them from the path of their duty. She congratulated them for doing their jobs well, for making a difference in how women were previously perceived in the forces and in society in general and for inspiring and “empowering” women of Delhi.

She also congratulated the staff of first “Pink Booth” of Delhi at Channa Market, Karol Bagh for working professionally and making it a success.

Two more Pink Booths have been inaugurated by Delhi Police Commissioner virtually bringing the total number of Pink Booths to twelve in the district including the Pink Chowki at Shraddhanand Marg.
