Delhi L-G Vinai Kumar Saxena inaugurates Cyber Swachta for Citizens' & Cyber Uday 2.0 of Delhi Police

Delhi L-G Vinai Kumar Saxena unveiled e-Book on “Cyber Swatchta for Citizens” to be used on You Tube, Facebook and other social media platforms for generating Cyber Awareness.

The L-G launched Cyber UDAY 2.0 awareness programme in continuation of the earlier CYBER UDAY 1.0  Delhi Police initiative started in the year 2019 by CyPAD, Delhi Police now IFSO/Cyber Crime Unit Special Cell under the banner of MHA’s I4C (Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre) scheme in which CYBER JAGROOKTA DIWAS is celebrated in 1st Wednesday of every month.

In addition to that integration of Licensing services of Delhi Police with Digi-locker application was also launched. 

Highlighting the importance of Cyber Security and Cyber Hygiene, L-G said, " awareness was the best bulwark against Cyber crimes and  such initiatives aimed at sensitizing citizens were the best means of creating awareness among the people, specially vulnerable sections like children, youth, women and senior citizens".

The LG also underlined the importance of interactive two communication between the people and the police to achieve desired levels of awareness. He appreciated Delhi Police for their technological initiatives towards citizen centric services and to create awareness among public about common cyber-crimes.

The gathering was also addressed by Delhi CP Sanjay Arora, who informed that the Delhi Police will continue to deal with Cyber Crime as a priority area in a professional and efficient manner and also to make our society cyber proof from cyber threats through spreading cyber awareness programmes. Further he informed that with the integration of Licensing services with Digi-locker now the licensees can keep their licenses readily available on Digi-locker which is safe and secured.

On this occasion a brief presentation was shown by O.P. Mishra, Jt. CP Licensing about integration of licensing services with Digi-locker coupled with online process which will facilitate ease of doing business and will minimise human interface.  

Prashant Gautam, DCP/IFSO/CCU Special Cell addressed the gathering about the concept of CYBER UDAY 1.0 which was a huge success and re-initiating of CYBER UDAY 2.0, to have maximum outreach and he emphasised the need to train youth knowing that most financial activities are done digitally, so they must know the cyber threats.  

The Initial target of CYBER UDAY 2.0 is to reach and educate 26000 students in schools/colleges about cyber-crime and prevention awareness within four months. This will improve the police public interface as good works never go unnoticed, in fact they go on to build image of an organization. He summarised the implementation of Cyber Jagrookta Diwas by Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) and the various awareness activities held in Schools, Colleges, RWAs, MWAs, Mall etc. by Delhi Police since 2021 till date, officials said. 

The Special CPs, Joint CPs and Addl. CPs of Delhi Police participated in this event along-with 88 School principals/teachers and 225 Student Police Cadets  from various schools of Delhi.
