Delhi Crime Branch busted an interstate gang that burgled in Bihar

The accused had fled to Delhi to hide evade arrest from Bihar Police

New Delhi, March 24

The Delhi Crime Branch busted a gang of burglars from Bihar who had allegedly burgled at many places in Delhi and Bihar.

The accused were identified as Zaharul (21)  Mustaq alias Munna (35) and Mohd Tanvir (22) who run a gang called "Mashir gang" in Bihar. 

As per the case details,  on March 2 night burglary had taken place in the jewellery shop of Satya Narayan Aggarwal at Thakurganj Market in Kishanganj of Bihar. The burglars had taken  away cash of Rs. five lakhs and jewellery. The Thakurganj police station had registered a case for the same.

The Delhi Crime Branch formed a special team to trace the accused. The crime branch arrested three who were found to be active members of “Mashir” Gang. The crime branch had received information that the accused had fled from Bihar after the burglary and hiding in Delhi.

The officials stated that Munna is key member of the gang which is now active in Delhi and doing recee of soft targets in Delhi. This information was shared with Thakurganj police station. It is informed by the local police that the above mentioned accused are wanted in their case and absconding after the arrest of their associate namely Iftekhar Alam.

The crime branch received specific input   that the members of “Mashir Gang”  will be coming in the area to Shastri Park in Delhi based on which a trap was laid and accused were arrested.

The crime branch stated that this gang is one of the most notorious gangs’ operative in interstate region. In order to establish their supremacy, now a days, this gang has recruited new and young members in the gang and thus this gang has become a desperate gang of Delhi/Bihar region. This gang has activated all of its sources and had committed a spate of heinous crimes including night burglary and robbery.
The Bihar police had arrested one accused namely Iftekar Alam while the other three of the accused had fled to Delhi to escape themselves to arrest in that case.

The accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code while further investigations are on.
