Delhi Crime Branch arrests two for stabbing, attempting to rob a journalist

The journalist was grabbed and asked to give his wallet and other belongings; he got stabbed while trying to resist the robbery

New Delhi, April 27

The Delhi Police have arrested two men stabbed a journalist in Mayur Vihar Phase II while  he was resisting a robbery bid.

The accused have been identified as Roshan Bharti (22) and Shivam Kumar (22). the accused have been previously involved in robberies.

As per the case details, on April 22 night, Dhan Sumod (43), the Delhi Bureau Chief at Media One TV channel, was walking towards the park inside Sanjay Jheel, and as soon as he reached the gate of the park near East Vinod Nagar bus stand, three unknown individuals approached him asking for a matchbox.

Two of them grabbed him and asked him to hand over his purse and phone. When the complainant resisted, one of them stabbed him with a knife and robbed him of his belongings and fled from the spot.

The victim sustained multiple injuries and was admitted to a hospital, from where he was discharged after treatment.
