Two young persons from different communities, one killed and one died by suicide led to tension in Sahranpur district of UP.
The victim was identified as Zia-ur-Rehman (19), who was bludgeoned to death at the house of his neighbour, Tanu Saini. Tanu (19) was also found dead, allegedly of suicide.
The UP Police have deployed policemen and PAC personnel outside the houses of both families which are a few meters away from each other.
It was learnt that Zia’s father was informed by local policeman through his mobile phone that he was badly injured and unconscious. He rushed his son to a local hospital that referred him to higher institution when the family took him to Dehradun however he succumbed to his injuries.
Zia’s family alleged that he was beaten up at the house of Tanu by her family members. Tanu’s family claimed that they heard voices from and rushed to the spot wherein they saw a few men beating up a boy with sticks who was later taken away. The family claimed the police had arrived and took the boy as well as the assailants with them and returned back levelling allegations that the family beat him up.
As per the case details, Zia was spotted entering our house on CCTV by around six students, who were studying in a library adjacent to the house. It was they who barged into our house and beat him up, thinking he was a thief. The family claimed that they even tried to save him.
After this incident, Tanu hanged herself in her room with a dupatta under the pretext of changing her clothes.
Zia’s father has named Janeshwar (52), his elder brother Maneshwar (55), and two cousins, Priyanshu (22) and Shivam Saini (20) as accused in the complaint. Tanu’s family have also filed a cross FIR against Zia’s family and complained of threats.
Zia and Tanu studied in the same pre-college till Intermediate (Class 12). Zia had enrolled in BSc Nursing, after school while Tanu had dropped out.
