New Delhi, May 1

The Delhi Police Special Cell probing the Delhi Public School Mathura incident have identified the hoax caller.

The police found out that it was a school student who did it only for fun.

The Delhi Public School (DPS) administration had received an email on its official ID which claimed a bomb has been planted on campus and that it will be activated at 9 am.

The school called the police that rushed with bomb squad and dog squad.

More than 4,000 students were at school when the news broke out and the campus was cleared. The police teams carried out an extensive search and found nothing.

The address that was used to send an email had indicated that the sender was either in Russia or used a software showing location of Russia to hide identity. The police used technical surveillance and found the sender in Delhi.

The police have found that the boy had watched the news that someone had sent mail to Indian School in Delhi about a bomb and decided to copy it. The boy would be counselled.
