DCW sends notice to Delhi Police over abandoned baby girl found in Nangloi area

The DCW has sought an action taken report from Delhi Police and sought details of FIR alongwith progress in the case

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) sent a notice to Delhi Police seeking an action taken report, after an an abandoned newborn girl was rescued from the capital’s Nangloi dumpyard.

The Delhi Police had rescued the child from a dump yard and sent her to a hospital. A passerby had spotted the child in the dump yard and called the DCW helpline 181.

As per the case details, on March 21 a PCR call was received at Nangloi police station. the polcie team immediately reached the spot and found one newly born unknown baby girl about three days old. A tag was found on her hand (with details of her birth).

The newly born baby was immediately admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital. The polcie have registered a case and collecting details to find the accused.

In their notice to Delhi Police, the DCW has sought a copy of the FIR along with details of the accused arrested. It has also sought details of the family of the child and a copy of the order passed by the Child Welfare Committee.
