Businessman Kamalkant Murder Case- Mumbai Crime Branch finds that Kajal consumed thallium to avoid police suspicion days after killing her businessman Kamalkant Shah

The Mumbai Crime Branch investigating the love birds Kavita-Hitesh case who murdered Kavita’s husband by giving him thallium found out that Kavita had herself also consumed some amount of Thallium to avoid suspicion. 

Kavita alias Kajal Shah (46) and her lover Hitesh Jain (45) allegedly killed her husband Kamalkant (46), a textile businessman by giving him thallium and arsenic over a period of time.

Kamalkant fell severely ill and was rushed to Bombay Hospital where the blood reports showed excess arsenic and thallium. Kamalkant passed away on September 20. Bombay hospital, where he was admitted in August last week, on finding extremely high levels of thallium and arsenic in his blood. 

The Azad Maidan police station filed a case of murder and the case was transferred to the crime branch for further investigation. The crime branch arrested Kajal and Jain on December 1.

The doctors at Bombay hospital, where he was admitted, recommended the entire family to undergo blood metal test.

According to the police, while other family members underwent the test on September 14, Kajal waited for a week. 

During this period, she allegedly consumed thallium, according to police. She eventually underwent the test on September 23, where the substance showed up in her blood.

The police are still extracting more information on the mobile phones of the accused and hotels they were put up where the murder conspiracy was allegedly hatched.
