A builder allegedly killed his wife with an axe, attacked their two children and slit his own wrist, after a fight at their house in Neb Sarai area of South Delhi.

The accused has been identified as Vijay Veer Singh (55) who is injured admitted in the hospital. .

The police stated that they received an emergency call in wee hours of April 27 by his children that their father has killed their mother and they have overpowered him.

His wife, Suman was asleep when he allegedly attacked her. He then went to the next room and allegedly attacked his children, Devika (30) and Shashank (28) but they children saved themselves.

The police teams rushed to the spot and found the woman lying dead in a pool of blood. The children had managed to lock themselves but had injuries on the neck and forehead. Vijay was himself found in the house with an injured wrist.

The primary probe shows that Vijay who was married to Suman in 1992 often harassed her for not giving dowry or gifts during the wedding. His family told police he was not on good terms with his wife and children and didn’t pay attention to them. When Suman objected to this, he allegedly beat her up.

In that incident, Shashank received gunshot injuries while trying to save his sister Devika who was slapped by Vijay. He developed anger towards his children for supporting their mother and not him. The accused was arrested and sent to jail but they later settled the matter.
